Move day. They sled I made worked out great. Damn this tank was heavy.
Foot of the sled to hold the tank on while moving down the stairs.
The tank placed on the stand. The deadlift was crazy. We used two industrial pump up suction cups on each end of the tank.
We also had about 8 people. It was hard for everyone to help at once. This tank was is extremely heavy. Primal screams were heard.
The tank is dual starphire pane glass on the front.. about .5" each pane. the rest of the tank is 3/4 inch thick glass, which is really thick.
There are also overflow towers and a eurobraced top, and I didn't realize a protective plywood layer remained stuck in the bottom.
I forgot all about the plwood. I was so busy thanking everyone for helping, and I was stunned that the tank was on the stand after all this time.
You can see the plywood under the layer of dust. The tank will get a good cleaning soon. Its been in the garage too long.
I had placed some nice blue posterboard on top of the foam layer I put on top of the stand, but then forgot about the plywood layer.
I'm not sure if I will use my router to cut the whole center of the plywood out a few inches from the stand frame,
or just widen the large drain line hole if necessary for the plumbing. Luckily the plywood had holes cut in it already.
Either way the bottom glass will overgrow with purple coralline algae and hopefully polyps and such.
